Description
Courting pair. First observed the male on a large boulder (photos 1-2). Then, after a few minutes of watching, I noticed him display and run over to a nearby rock pile (photos 3-4). Eventually, I noticed a second collared lizard (photo 5), which I first thought was another male since both individuals were seen displaying toward each other (photos 6-7). Then, I the male started rubbing and walking over and around the second lizard, without any biting (photos 8-13). That was when I realized it was a male courting a female. They took a brief pause to watch me and make sure I didn't come any closer (photo 14). Then they continued courting (photos 15-20). The whole encounter lasted around 40 minutes, with the courting part, taking up about 6 minutes total. I did not stay long enough to see them mate, but it was still so cool to witness such an intimate part of the life of the Eastern Collared Lizard.

Description
A couple males going at it. I saw a few behaviors repeated: One lizard would turn sideways to the second, and the second would come to the side of the first, sometimes getting a hold of the first one's abdomen or rear leg. A few times I saw the one that turned sideways place its front leg underneath it. Perhaps so it couldn't be bitten? Curious that one would appear to offer its flank to other. They continued in front of me for 5-10 minutes as I stood there taking photos. They would separate, then seek each other out again, do some posturing, tussle, separate again, etc., while moving around a concrete slab and various objects on it.

These 2 fence lizards sit on this armrest daily. They have been doing this for over 1 week. Look at their arms placed on each other. Wondering if this behavior is routine?
