Asci 4-spored. Spores ellipsoid, ~23 um x 10um. Seems to key to the group Octospora gemmicola var. tetraspora, O. itzerottii, O. leucoloma var. tetraspora using this key:

Description

On 4 Balsam Fir and White Spruce trees in this area adjacent to/in swamp. Laminal and marginal soredia; soredia many per soralium; light/tan underside; rhizines extending close to margin; epruinose lobe tips; cortex K+ yellow, medulla C+ red. Currently appears to be the first record of the species for Nova Scotia.

Description

First eastern Canadian record, I believe. A European species established in the west from northern California to southern BC. Only other eastern North American occurrences I could find online are from Ohio (state level record given in BONAP) and eastern Maine in 2018 by @michael_oldham and Tony Reznicek (iNaturalist). Well established here over about 10m in seasonally flooded, mowed, roadside ditch.

Description

Based on the species in immediate proximity this is Aronia floribunda x Sorbus aucuparia. Each parent is shown in records following this one. It's not in the iNaturalist taxonomy yet. This might not have a properly described scientific name. xSorbaronia hybrida may be closest. It is an aucuparia x melanocarpa/pyrifolia/arbutifolia hybrid described when the latter three were considered a single species.

Variation morphologique de 4 individus (moyenne de 3 organes par individu):
Feuilles en moyenne à limbe 1.7--1.9 fois aussi longs que larges, à pétioles 32--56% de la longueur des limbes. Bractées sans longs poils glandulaires (poils glandulaires courts présents), en moyenne avec (7.7--)9.3--10 lobes, les lobes représentant 26--33% de la longueur de la bractée.

Description

ELC602 Au pied d'une petit escarpement rocheux ombragé le long d'un sentier dans une forêt de feuillus avec Fagus grandifolia, Tsuga canadensis et Acer saccharum. En compagnie de Tussilago farfara, Onoclea sensibilis, Equisetum arvense, Viburnum lantanoides. Plusieurs frondes ont une apparence intermédiaire avec P. connectilis et une limbe en forme de larme et des pennes basales seulement 4.5 x plus longues que larges. Les frondes prélevées sont celles qui correspondaient le mieux à la description de P. excelsior.

Colonie d'environ 50 frondes, de 2 m carrés environ.

Spores de 56, 60, 60, 64, 70, 70, 72, 74, 76, 80 um de long. Fronde inclinées à 30˚ de l'horizontale dans leur partie distale, pennes basales étalées, +/-perpendiculaires au rachis, limbe triangulaire.

Description

I suspect this is E. x fossicola (=E. ciliatum x palustre). Leaves are wider than typical E. palustre. Both putative parents nearby. There appeared to be a definite bimodal distribution of leaf width in the palustre (quite narrow-leaved) or palustre-like (as illustreated here) plants.
