Not entirely sure about this ID - also curious about the growth. Is this a patch of new growth from the older lichen, or a new individual colonizing the older one? (or something else?)

Previous game camera trigger of a goshawk 30 minutes before, bookended by marten triggers. Then some drama! A goshawk appears from the left, lands briefly, and then lifts off again to meet a second goshawk in a brief tussle in the air. The birds are within view of the camera over the course of 35 seconds, with one eventually flying off with the other remaining on the ground, slightly off-camera to the lower right. Exciting observation! @caiwatha

Description
A lynx showed up less than 5 hours after my family and I were at this camera trap. I set up this camera trap in 30-March-2023 and for the first time, I added a lure on 14-January-24: a stick rubbed down with a beaver castor sac. The first lynx immediately marked it with urine, as did lynx in several following camera captures.
This location only had moose pics before, no lynx or predator of any kind, so the scent lure appeared to be a remarkably effective attractant. Thanks to @caiawatha for providing the castor.
