This Black Knight was found at the old Lilly Pond across the road from the Botanic Gardens. This has now been removed and replaced with a new pond in a slightly different location and very little vegetation. As it matures hopefully the dragonflies will return.

This Zebra Vicetail has just emerged and is sitting in a quiet sunny spot while it properly inflates its wings. Its body will thin down and it will be hungry and ready to hunt. Found at Archer Creek Rest Area.

I rechecked the area of my original sighting under similar weather conditions to find it sitting not far from that first sighting. Sat in the area for my entire 2 hr shoot with its back to the muddy waterhole only stirring when I tried to circle it and climb a 3m embankment to get one 6m shot (2nd image). Hopefully covered all angles for a positive ID. It eventually vanished when I wasn't looking - no others appear to be around but in all the leaf litter laying about, would be like finding a needle in the haystack unless in flight.
