Description
Wondering if this is A. hemiophrys but not sure what I'm looking for to distinguish between it and americanus- yes- it's wild. west side of the northern Sable Island on Lake of the Woods (this time of year there are thousands of toads (mostly babies) there so this one caught my eye for being different)

Although DNA tests are required for complete certainty, an excellent candidate for Texanum based on measurements and morphology. 15 Costal Grooves (foreleg to vent); approx. 2.0mm internarial distance; 14cm total length; underbite (can be seen in third photo); blunt snout with head appearing swollen behind eyes.
