Merlin chasing off Eagle
First time seeing an Agama at this location!
Leucistic male
I went out to take my dogs for an afternoon walk when I stumbled upon this little guy who may have been hit by a car as I was able to pick him up and move him to the side of the street and also observed some blood on the top of his head. He had a very beautiful burnt-orange throat and belly with a dark lack band separating this two. Note:he ended up flying into a tree so I think he'll be ok
One of the nicer finds during the 2012 Christmas Bird Count in Kouchibouguac National Park and surroundings
I know! I can't get enough of these awesome agamids!
I find same bee in end of August in same place, same flower almost every year.

Orlando Wetlands Park, Orange County, FL, August 2016.
On deciduous tree on edge of beach of Delaware River, NJ side. Several specimens were growing hidden in hollow wood. Orange lacquered tones on cap, sessile attachment.
Only one plant. Many dead. Horses everywhere, probably feral. Either way they're grazing everything down to shit. Could use some pumas here.
botanizing with Odin today
More nest-building photos from this morning just because this behavior is so damn cool

Kukang jawa/ javan slow loris (Nycticebus javanicus)
.
Satu satunya primata jawa yang hidup di malam hari (nokturnal), yang pasti dia aktif melakukan aktivitas nya malam hari dari terbenam nya matahari hingga terbitnya matahari.
Kalo siang?? Ya rebahan, eh tidur maksudnya. Istirahat lah yaa,.
.
Love these odes. A first at home and for the county. Showed up in front of the barn on a very foggy morning. There are lakes around that likely host this species and possibly they are checking out our pond. Wouldn't that be nice, if they decided to move in? :)
Diamond Firetail in background.
Braving the frozen tundra that is just outside my window... Anything for peanuts! At least the feeders are full and there is plenty to go around!
Blue Jay | Cyanocitta cristata
Kabekona Lake, Laporte, MN
Very cool leucistic individual
I believe both are Barn Swallows
Piebald White-tailed Deer
Mother bird was feeding her three hungry fledglings.
I have a 100 gallon tub of water near my house so wildlife can drink. Just as it was getting dark a short while ago something caught my eye and this small White-tailed buck came to drink. Somehow this fella got a plastic jug caught up in his velvet antlers...I hope he can get it off. I had to chuckle at this sight, however, something I had certainly never seen before. Anyway, he drank some water then trotted away. Hope he will be OK!

Caught a pigeon with bare hands.they came to eat peanuts and I caught them. They are now so widespread in my area that they are not even scared of me.
One of the largest from Lake Ontario I have ever seen - had the pleasure of landing it from the kayak on a calm late summer night.
