During the month of June, this night active orb weaver spider builds its web between 9 and 9:30 PM, tends it all night, then takes it down and eats it between 5:30 and 6 AM. It retreats to a hiding place to rest all day out of sight, only to build another web the next night. We have observed it catching scarab beetles as shown in the last two photos.
