I recently learned that after Snowy Owl #25 left Traverse City after
Feb. 23, she flew to the Muskegon Wastewater Facility where she was seen on March 2.
She then flew across the state to Stony Creek Metro Park (Detroit area) where over 10 birders saw and photographed her on the afternoon of April 4. One birder there told me that they knew immediately that she was the
Snowy from Traverse City.
Snowy #25 was hatched in 2013 or before and banded in 2015 in Superior, Wisconsin by a Duluth, MN bander, so she is an experienced owl.

- tarsomeres dark-scaled
- pronotum with fine yellow hair-like scales, and sublateral and submedian stripes
- tergites with pale basolateral patches
- metameron with patch of pale scales
