Fungi growing on the pronotum & elytra of a false bombardier beetle. I'm guessing that these are related to the ones we so often see on ladybugs.

The coolest find of the day. A Zombie Land of flies - 9 total flies in a 5 ft x 5ft area in different states of Entomophthora muscae infection. One fly was still moving and the infection had only caused one wing to be bent up and non-functional. I could touch it with my finger and it didn't run away. During the course of photographing the other flies this still living one climbed to the top of the plant that I had found it on, which is textbook behavior for the infection as some how the mycelium grows into a portion of the fly brain that makes it want to climb to a high place for better spore dispersal

hyphomycetes overgrowing a dead spider still in its spiderweb in an outhouse.

white colonies on host, teleomorph not seen. Conidiophore of thin hyaline hyphae which are unusually straight and relatively sparingly branched (except for conidiogenous cells, which are numerous). conidia form either laterally from conidiophore, or at the end of a long straight acremonium-like phialide which are often set in an 90 degree angle from the main conidiophore and often branch giving a characteristic aspect under the dissecting microscope

the conidia are variable in shape, but mostly ellipsoid, but ranging from subglobose to lemoniform and cylindrical and measure (2.5)3-6 x (1.3)1.5-2.5u.

this seem to fit well with Gams description of E. aranearum, except that I have not observed falcate conidia (however I think Gams observation are from cultures). I think that most, if not all the observation of Torrubiella pulvinata in North America are probably this species, as the protologue to T. pulvinata describe a quite different looking fungi.

currently in culture and to be sequenced

Strong, "fungy" odour. As far as I can remember, it's gills didn't bruise when scratched. Hollow stipe.
