Description

Lots of S. flava and minor in close proximity. Only 2 or 3 plants had these uniquely shaped pitchers that were more "open". Could this possibly be a hybrid between the two? No S. rubra observed at this site.

I am extremely confident that this was NOT a bald eagle, red-shouldered hawk, or turkey/black vulture based on the direct underside view I had of the bird directly before taking these pictures. My thought is a nighthawk or an owl.

This is a different species from the little green anole that we are familiar with here on John’s Island, SC. Note the raised fin or hump on its back just behind the head. This is NOT a green Carolina anole. It is an aggressive invasive species. HTTPS://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_anole.
