Male. This species is normally only seen very deep, but on this site several m/f pairs were present at 80 feet.

Big male that recruited in 2014

This was a first for me. I've had chickdees land on me, but not a blue jay. It stayed there for a while, pecking at my cap.

The first time I have seen this: all three Fiji garden eel species together. G. preclara (left), H. hassi (center), G. maculata (right).

I was alerted to this owl's presence by the Blue Jays. I passed near this spot again later, the jays were gone, and the owl appeared asleep.
