Unfortunately I was not able to get a dorsal pattern shot, but I saw it was a hornet-like pattern. I believe the combination of extensive hairs on the abdomen and thorax, along with the all pale face are good for this species.

This fly was in a spatterdock flower and was captured by a bald-faced hornet, which I netted and took the fly off of. The hornet had already killed the fly and bit off its head and one wing, but I though the fly might be something unusual so I kept it anyway.
