Description
Cypripedium fasciculatum. These are rather rare Orchds that only occur in scatered, local populations at high elevations in the western mountains.

Description
Very rare plant in Utah, only a few small relic populations left and my first time seeing one. Associated species: Sedges, False Solomon Seal, Potentilla sp., Hounds Tongue, Cow Parnsnip, Woods Rose. Red-oiser Dogwood. General site charateristics: Elevation-1783m, wooded south facing slope, dominat trees were River Birch, Big-tooth Maple, Box-elder, and Gambel's Oak. In a wet meadow,possible former Beaver pond, with mixture of sun and shade. Probably received 4 to 6 hours of direct sun exposure a day during mid day, shady in the morning and afternoon.
