Hi, the size of the spider was just under an inch, its backside in the photo looks black, but it was more like a very strong purple with velvety texture, the head part is deep wine color and the bright orange legs.
We saw it in the Caripe del Guacharo national park in Venezuela, in front of the Cueva del Guacharo, a cave discovered by Alejandro Humboldt. It is quite aggressive because when it approached the camera it was put in attack position. We took the photo on 05/12/2018.
