After crossing the highway - then by the corner going down towards Bridge St.
Turned out to be common through the area, these were the first few I saw. Fruiting from forest duff.
Associated with Hard Beech / Nothofagus truncata. This is because only this species grows this far north.
Environment was a patch of beech approx an acre in size, although one could observe beech in the canopy though the area, so maybe this patch is connected mycorrhizally to other beech. Was regenerating Kauri around and through patch, along with other native trees and shrubs. Slope was very steep.
