Definitely plague skink because it only has one frontoparietle scale
Has one frontoperiatle scale so is a plague skink
Under log; SVL probably <40mm
Small brown skink, no obvious colour or stripes. In hilly grassy paddock, under foxglove when pulled out.
I’m guessing the type of skink.
It was between 2 layers of woollen underfelt in the garden. The S shape position photo was how it was when I first lifted the top layer of underfelt.
It was interesting to see the tiny new tail
I’m hopeful it is a nz skink and not a plague skink but don’t know. I now know to take side on photos if possible.
It was found under a rotting board
Found in a large muddy puddle on farmland when I was tramping. Nearly metamorphosised froglet.
Found dead - a small one
