Lichen
Growing in wetland under Leptospermum
Locally common in sandy peat fringing a shallow ephemeral wetland system known as the "Hapupu Lagoons". Places occupied are often under water for considerable times during the year.
Growing in association with Limosella australis, Callitriche chathamensis, Lilaeopsis noave-zelandiae, Crassula sinclairii, Myriophyllum triphyllum and Potamogeton cheesemanii.
This location is the only one I know of for this species on the islands (though it must be elsewhere). It was lats seen at this site in January 2006. So good to know its still there.
Occasional amongst Carex pumila and Ficinia nodosa on the sandy shoreline of lake. Associated with Sonchus asper and S. oleraceus.
A very uncommon species on the islands - this is only the third time I have seen it on the islands.
A small form that I have only really seen along this track. Not the typical long stems with large bracts.
Growing under kauri. Associated with Cyrtostylis oblonga.
