Description

Flowering.
Naked flowers, in cymes of 2; cyathium perianth-like in four sections with marginal spikes.
Central cyathium ~1.5mm wide (forgot to take a picture with the ruler!).
Leaves obovate and paired; distal leaves have longer petioles and are alternate.
Stems and leaf margins red.

Some flowers still in budding stage. Raceme of yellow tubular flowers. Each flower has five Connate petals that are adnately fused to the stamens. Four stamens and one carpel. Mostly aposepalous. Corolla parts not fused together so not a true hypanthium.

Genus Lithospermum - Boraginaceae
Flowers borne in modified leafy or bracteate cymes.

1a - Corolla tube 4-8mm. pale yellowish. lobe spreading-ascending, entire, flowers generally obscured by lanceolate bracts (Shape of flower matches the best of the 3 options)
