Mr.Mrs.Cangoos moved away from the food in order to let these 3 come over & eat. (their first night here this year).
There was one more that flew in, however it was too dark to take photo of it.
Purplish-Brown (dark) rachis differentiates this species from Green Spleenwort
Fawn on Indian Lake Rd.
Just the head and neck are visible in this pic.
Relatively tame ....this particular hawk was around for a few weeks and it was easy to photograph it. I never witnessed any baiting.
Annually this species is relatively common here.
