What

Double-banded Plover (Anarhynchus bicinctus)

Observer

thomasjwalsh

Date

December 30, 2012

Place

Ward Beach (Google, OSM)

Description

Had to crawl over hot river stones to get near this flock, and then they flew away before I could get close enough for a good photo...

They were tiny, about twice the size of a Sparrow.
