Description

A guess at a class of animal. This small inverwoven tunnel of a hard material looks to have been built on a flat surface and then come off, before it washed ashore here decades ago, as it was found several hundred meters into the dunes. These dunes accrete approximately 1m of new sand annually in front of the dune, hence the date estimate.

I have retained this example and can provide more photos, with the sand removed.
