It was very dry at the park and it took me 20 minutes to find this one specimen in the shady brush. It was located near a discarded, but dry, tire.
It was sucked out of the bucket from Kawaihae and then frozen.Michael-Dillion Gonsalves Kelo'kalani.
This mosquito and many others were found in Mr. Binders bucket full of larva from Kawaihae.

Wrigglers were kept in containers until the adults emerged. Adults were viewed under a dissecting microscope and pictures taken using an iPhone.
I believe this is a male Asian Tiger Mosquito, male. Hatched from a larvae that was donated by a guppy farmer in Waihee, Maui.
Wrigglers from a bromeliad in Kipahulu was reared to adulthood. Nice gold tint to this specimen. Not sure of the type of mosquito. Any help would be appreciated.

This mosquito was caught in a GAT trip at a friend's house. Trap placed next to house.

In the course of 15 minutes I caught ten mosquitoes in a net at various spots on this residential property: backyard, driveway and by small pools of water from a stream. Five of the mosquitoes appear to be Ae. aegypti and five appear to be Culex. I left the net in car for an hour before aspirating them into a container that had sticky tape in it. At some point in the process, some of the specimens lost their scales on the back of the thorax.
