Looked like it was growing on well-rotted pine
Swooping up from under a log near trail in heavy shade. Not collected. Single frond, smooth, buff to pale orange top, white poroid bottom, red brown stains where damaged by slugs: Laetiporus? Piptoporus?

On partially rotted oak log on ground. Old fbs nearby must have been a month old, most, like this one, were shelf shaped, one was frond shaped like one photographed last week in SNP.

On rotted stump, tree species unknown. Cap surface cream and yellow, with reddish brown staining. Next day staining on edges black. Pore surface white, small pores, note photo showing edge of pores, ragged, tooth-like appearance. Pores bruise tan brown soon from touch. then reddish brown, and finally just brown. Flexible, moist but not dripping. Two overlapping lobes, fused together on one side, short stipe dark at attachment to wood. Odor slight, not notable. Taste slight, somewhat unpleasant, bitter or astringent. Vertical slice reveals white context, quickly oxidizing light brown, then turning darker reddish brown - see last two photos for comparison of fresh cut and initial quick browning, then photo showing ultimate reddish brown. Pore lawyer is about 1/5 of context depth. Dimensions 11.5 cm long, 7 cm wide at widest 2.4 cm wide at base. Context 1.9 cm deep, pore layer 0.4 cm. deep.
