Newly hatched tadpoles in ponds. small clutch. don't think the monsoon rush has started yet

found a new ephemeral pool today. the second monsoon saved a few tadpoles who had clustered, now they are spread out and there are much fewer tadpoles as they have room to disperse. tons of fairy shrimp. the rabbit poop seems to be a major food source, as I found them all around the area. the new rain fed pool level has pushed the edge of the water up into the bushes, good news for the toadlets, who must be getting predated heavily on by the local racoons.
