The Monarchs are Coming

Several of us here in Lubbock have noted the presence of numerous Monarchs migrating through our area. By "numerous," I mean "ridiculous amounts." I've lived here 3 years and the best year was 2015, with 20-25 gathered in trees as I was walking along the nature area at Dunbar Lake (Lake 6). This is substantially more than that. They were everywhere from about 5:00 - 7:00.

May they find their way into your neighborhood so that you may enjoy them, too.

Note: I spent late morning and most of the afternoon in Hale County, and saw nary a one.

Woo hoo! I wonder what the moths think of monarchs though... ;)

Good question! Probably everything is hiding because of all the rain we got last night (it's actually still raining) and the temp had only risen to 50*, last I checked.
