A list dedicated to Waxy Caps(Hygrocybe, Gliophorus, Hygrophorus and Cuphophyllus) found, observed and collected beneath or near Western red cedar(Thuja plicata) in Washington State. I began developing this thesis in 2007 and noted the association between Hygrophoraceae and Western red cedar in all my observations of Hygrophoraceae on Mushroom observer prior to officially making the list at the beginning of 2019. Many other observers have since began following up with these findings and have had success/consistency with abundant collections of Hygrophoraceae in the aforementioned habitat, as well(especially during Winter months).

I have numerous observations for the taxa listed here on this species list(which all coincide with my Mushroomobserver observations/specimen collections).
The count lists 0 of 21 observed for some bizarre reason on this lists stats. I have numerous observations for all of them. If you wish to view my observations for this list simply click on my main bio/page species list(below my photo) and type Hygrophoraceae in there or scroll to taxa here below and click “view all” under total observations. All species listed here include my observations and are research graded.

My Mushroomobserver species list by the same name below-
