I am a professor of Biology in Austin, Texas at Austin Community College. My background is evolutionary biology and herpetology but have also been an avid bird watcher and insect collector for a long time.

I believe that the best way to protect our biodiversity in the future is to involve as many people as possible and I love how easy it is to do this with iNaturalist.

I have created a community project and a class project to involve my community and my students and am hoping that they continue to use this tool long after their time with me.
