I work as a researcher at The Land Institute, an agroecology and plant breeding institute. I study the native perennial prairie genus Silphium, which is being domesticated as an oilseed crop. I'm particularly interested in understanding and conserving its ecotypic diversity across the Plains. I'm also interested in other prairie species and insects that live in, on, and around them.
