GEOGRAPHICALLY speaking I am interested in performing ecology and conservation projects of the megadiverse Amazonian forest in Ecuador and the unique ecosystems of the Galapagos Islands.

SCIENTIFICALLY, I am interested in understanding the impact of biotic and abiotic variables in the plant communities of tropical forests in Ecuador, particularly in the Yasuni Biosphere Reserve and Galápagos . At the moment, I maintain projects in these areas that, in addition to the above, seek:

-Map the existing diversity in these areas using advanced technologies and remote sensing.
-Use these spatially explicit results as the tools endorsed by the environmental authority of Ecuador.
-Understand in the short and long term how the variation in climate at different spatial and temporal scales affects the plant communities in my regions of interest.
