I live in Down East Maine on a property that was once part of a saltwater dairy farm, with a mix of spruce forest, old fields, shrublands, shoreline, and two small freshwater ponds. We are avid birders and have begun learning about and trying to identify everything else on this little corner of paradise: butterflies and moths, dragonflies and damselflies, spiders, wildflowers, trees, lichens, mushrooms--the works.
