Francis Clergue was an American industrialist who founded the Sault Ste. Marie Pulp and Paper Company (last known as St. Mary's Paper) in 1895.

Today, his legacy partly lives on in the work carried out by Clergue Forest Management Inc., a company dedicated to the sustainable management of the Algoma Forest, an area of Crown forest comprising more than 700,000 ha.
