I am a butterfly enthusiest. This commenced when, as a child, Vita Brits had butterfly cards in their packs which I collected, then when I was about 10yrs old, whilst riding my horse I came across a tree full of Wanderer (Monarch) butterflies. It was the most magical sight I had ever seen and therefore memorable., a sight that has mesmerised me ever since.

Later in life , some 40 yrs later I had an experience with a blue triangle butterfly, more than one mind you that sealed my fate. I was in love! I had to find out what that beautiful blue butterfly was, I searched the internet , went to Kuranda then Coffs Harbour, then Bribie Island butterfly houses to learn more.

Since then I have planted a garden with a view to providing nectar eaters (bird and insect) with a good variety of plents to feed on. I also try to plant plants for specific butterflies that are in our area so that they have what they require to breed.

With my husband being a photograher, together we are documenting the butterflies local to our area, that being Tilligerry Peninsula, NSW, and also my home area in the Upper Hunter, Martindale, via Denman, NSW.
