I have a BS in entomology from the University of Maryland (studying termite ecology)
I then moved to New Orleans where I completed a PhD in parasitology at Tulane (studying aquatic insect ecology) with a concurrent MD
I stayed at Tulane to study Pediatrics and then Allergy/Immunology and ultimately joined the faculty. In 2022 I moved from Tulane over to Ochsner where I see patients. My entomology research focuses on immune reactions to arthropod antigens that includes anaphylaxis from venom and asthma from cockroaches.
