The Hike Inn is a unique backcountry lodge offering welcoming hospitality in a wilderness setting. Nestled in the beautiful north Georgia mountains, guests visit by hiking on well-marked trails through Amicalola Falls State Park and Chattahoochee National Forest.

Open year round, every season has its own distinctive charm. Reservations include lodging and meals - hearty dinner and breakfast served family style.

LEED certified, the Hike Inn was designed to showcase green building techniques and sustainable design while providing a unique backcountry setting for hikers with a mission of conservation education. A daily facility tour, an after dinner evening presentation, and a resource library with natural history guidebooks is offered.

The Hike Inn (green blaze) and A.T. Approach (blue blaze) trails start at the top of the falls parking lot at Amicalola Falls State Park (about 2550 feet), and the Hike Inn is at approximately 3070 feet. The Hike Inn is located 4.4 miles from Springer Mountain (elevation 3782), the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail (white blaze).

The 5-mile Hike Inn trail rolls through oak/hickory forest (old growth from roughly mile 2.7 through mile 4.2), crosses small streams, traverses scenic ridges and ambles through stands of mountain laurel and rhododendron. The hike meanders through a high mountain bog - a wet, marshy valley - crossing wooden puncheon planks and bridges before making the final stretch to the inn. Trout Lily bloom in March. Pink Lady Slippers in area bloom late April. Please stay on the trail when photographing.
