My family is from Ireland and I was born in England. I have lived in Costa Rica for 35 years studying and teaching on tropical forest ecosystems. In 1987 I discovered Phil DeVries´s book on the butterflies of Costa Rica, which rekindled my childhood love of butterflies. Now I have become fascinated by tropical moths.
