30+ year resident of the Idylwood neighborhood of Redmond, WA 98052. I am retired. Formerly, I was an Associate Faculty member at Edmonds Community College in Lynnwood, WA, where I taught digital forensics and advanced data recovery in the Computer Information (CIS) department. In a prior life, I earned an MS in Biology from Cleveland State University (OH), where I grew Chlorella vulgaris (a green alga) in flasks. I also have an MS in Biological Oceanography from the University of Washington (Seattle), where I studied the feeding biology of the marine copepod, Pseudocalanus sp. I am a member of the American Chestnut Foundation (ACF). I have stood next to a single living, mature American Chestnut (Castanea dentata), to several old Sequoias, and to the fossilized remains of many dead dinosaurs. I am particularly fond of trees, butterflies, dragonflies, whales, dinosaurs, and good dogs. I am a generally curious fellow about all things scientific. I read philosophy occasionally and now have doubts about the thing-in-itself and lately have become convinced that Schopenhauer and Nietzche may had some good arguments.
