I am a professional botanist from South Brazil, currently conducting postdoctoral research projects. My Master's thesis involved plant ecology associated with volatile secondary compounds, and my Ph.D. dissertation dealt with the systematics, taxonomy, and evolution of the prickly pear cacti (Opuntieae), with a special focus on the southern South American species. I enjoy aspects of sustainable use of plant biodiversity, flirting with Economic Botany since my B.Sc. thesis in Biology.
