He started Wa Samaki Ecosystems (www.wasamakipermaculture.org) in 1997 and is passionate about all things living! He is knowledgeable in identifying most tropical fish and has been keeping and breeding fish for over 40 years. His passion has been to regenerate the farm he is on to conserve as much flora and fauna that finds its way there from within central Trinidad.

He grew up in Kenya, obtained his BSc in Biochemistry and MSc in Zoology at the University of Guelph, Canada and has made Wa Samaki his home for the last 21 years. He has taught Permaculture Design across the Caribbean since 2007 and currently consults on projects though his company Caribbean Permaculture Consultants.

He is the permaculture specialist in charge of the sand mine regeneration at Walkers Quarry in Barbados (www.walkersreserve.com) and is the Director of Regeneration at the Walkers Institute of Regenerative Research, Education and Design. He is also the current managing director of the Caribbean Permaculture Research Institute (Barbados) (www.cpribarbados.com).

Erle brings a wealth of practical experience to tropical projects seeking to become regenerative.
