Biology Masters student at the University of Iowa.

Currently working on a population genetics project with Iva annua and its specialist, Schinia gracilenta.

Specifically:
I am studying the natural history and population genetics of the Iva Flower Moth (Schinia gracilenta). This moth is a specialist on supweed (Iva annua), one of the "lost crops" historically cultivated by Indigenous Americans. I am interested in determining whether the genomes of these moths contain signatures of sumpweed's history of cultivation and subsequent human-mediated spread across the continent.

I am looking for people to help collect for me all around the US to gather specimen that I could use in lab to do genetic sequencing of. Please message me if interested, any help would be appreciated!

Generally:
I am interested in prairie restoration, wildflowers, and species interactions.
