Butterflying the East Entrance to the Pend Oreille

On June 6, 2023 Carolee and I spent 4 hours birding and butterflying along the Pend Oreille. We started from the Nelway side and stopped at the bridge crossing. Spent two hours there, and had lunch. Massive Swallowtail puddling going on, including a couple of Two-tailed Swallowtails. We then drove up Limpid Creek Road to the open space. There were hundreds of butterflies, mostly Northern Checkerspots and Northern Crescents, but quite a lot of diversity as well. For the day, we logged 25 species.
