It would be nice to maintain the difference between V. t. var. triloba and V. t. var. dilatata if possible. They would become V. p. var. triloba and V. p. var. palmata, respectively.
It's only a few cases, though. @dryopteris2 and I seem to be the only users employing var. triloba.

@whiteoak do you synonymize V. triloba var. dilatata with V. subsinuata? This taxon change follows the POWO synonymies, which are listed in the link above.
