I understand the point and agree to do the change so long as we follow mollusca base.

My thoughts:
I find it annoying how conchologists keep changing names that are widely accepted. I thought the whole point of having scientific names was for them to remain the same through language and time. Now it is a naming war.
About 15 years ago C. anabathrum was called C. floridanus, now I guess we have to call it C. scalaris.
Current nameholder C. scalaris (from the East Pacific) was called C. castaneus Kiener, 1848.
So the issue is not only replacing C. anabathrum for C. scalaris - But also finding a valid name for C. scalaris (?)
