Heads up: When you commit this change, identifications will
be re-assigned to the output taxa based on their atlases. If some or all of
the outputs lack atlases, or if atlases overlap for a given record,
identifications will be replaced with identifications of the nearest common
ancestor taxon (Carex)
POWO does not accept Carex virgata Miq. or Carex virgata Sol. ex Boott, synonymizing them with Carex rafflesiana Boott and Carex appressa R.Br., respectively. Do people wish to maintain Carex virgata, and can anyone provide supporting resources for maintaining it as distinct? The current sense most users seem to be applying in New Zealand is Carex virgata Sol. ex Boott.
Unintended disagreements occur when a parent (B) is
thinned by swapping a child (E) to another part of the
taxonomic tree, resulting in existing IDs of the parent being interpreted
as disagreements with existing IDs of the swapped child.
Identification
ID 2 of taxon E will be an unintended disagreement with ID 1 of taxon B after the taxon swap
If thinning a parent results in more than 10 unintended disagreements, you
should split the parent after swapping the child to replace existing IDs
of the parent (B) with IDs that don't disagree.
