I observed this cottonmouth hunt through the wetland bottom by sniffing and nudging the substrate. It struck at its prey (a juvenile snapper, can be made out in the 3rd image), rolled a few times, and then drug it off into the vegetation. I captured the hunting/predation on video but can only share stills here.

first recorded observation of a T. radix consuming a house finch
Appears to be male combat. See all photos
It had caught the monitor on the ground and was holding it by the hindquarters, unable to swallow it. It then carried it up onto a branch, and hung down perpendicularly, using gravity to gradually shift its hold back down the tail, until the monitor was in a position to be able to swallow it. It remained in the hanging position to consume the monitor, then looped itself over the branch, seemingly using the pressure of the branch to force the monitor further down into its stomach.
Found in a bare patch under some wood located in a grassy field. The field is near a forested area and wetlands that are home to frogs and small rodents for prey.
Rough Greensnake catching an orbweaver spider. It got close to the web and then stayed there for what felt like 10 minutes (not sure it was waiting to figure out how to catch the spider or because I had disturbed it). After a while, it finally caught the spider and seemed to have no trouble eating it. My first time seeing a wild snake catch its prey!
The snake has its own observation here: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/31389225
