This sequence of eight photos shows an Eastern Cicada-killer Wasp approaching the cicada it has killed, wrestling it into position, and then moving it to the nest the wasp has excavated in the sandy soil. The last photo shows the two insects disappearing into the mouth of the nest tunnel.

Watched this Common Raven completely dismantle a bee or wasp or hornet nest and then fly across the road with a big chunk of it. The bird spent several minutes feeding on whatever remained in the interior of the nest. The third photo shows a close-up of one section of the nest.
