Rusty brown spore print, much of which obscures dark brown upper surface. White, small, uniform pores which immediately stain brown-black in response to damage. . Distinct from G. brownii due to "flatter, fan-shaped" fruitbody (Siegel & Schwarz, 2016)
Black, bumpy, finely pimply surface. Similarly black but smooth interior.
