Humedal Las vertientes de la Quebrada Carrizo en Antofagasta

La quebrada La negra es el lecho de una cuenca en la Región de Antofagasta, desemboca en la rada de Antofagasta.

En el lecho de esta quebrada es afloramiento de aguas subterráneas, que forman vertientes que confluyen formando riachuelos que originan una zona de este pequeño curso de agua natural que baja al mar por cerca de 5 kilómetros, y que a su paso, genera un pequeño ecosistema, desconocido y muy poco valorado por el sector público y privado.

Humedal en parches donde habita: Heleobias chimbaensis ( preferentemente sobre cianófitas que abundan en el lugar ), amphipodas, isopodas, aracnidos, dipteras, reptiles (Microlophus atacamensis, Phyllodactylus gerrhopygus), lepidópteros coleópteros y hemípteros, roedores, aves residentes y estacionales.

En estas vertientes se observa el crecimiento de la especie Apium graveolens (Apio) en la Quebrada Carrizo, en la cual es notable la presencia de sales en los sectores en que se aprecia vegetación. También la presencia de juncos (género Juncus), Distichlis spicata (grama salada).

Según estudio de la Universidad de Antofagasta: Quebrada de Carrizo se considera en esta clasificación, pues presenta una CE 62.7 dS/m. La conductividad eléctrica del agua del sector con valores de más de 20 dS/m nos indica que esta agua tiene una salinidad severa, de acuerdo a la tabla de Relación de Salinidad y Sobrevivencia en Vegetales”, sostiene Bernardita Valenzuela. En torno a la microbiología del sector, basta tomar un trozo de sal y ver la pigmentación verde y purpura de los microorganismos que habitan en ellas.

Se observa contaminación por basura en algunos puntos de la quebrada.

Tabanus monotaxis Philip, 1967 , especie endémica de Antofagasta, fue descrita en Calama.

Solo la hembras de los tábanos chupan sangre: La mayoría de los tábanos tienen hembras hematófagas, esto es, que se alimentan de la sangre que extraen de vertebrados endotermos.

Esta especie de araña es cosmopolita, sinantrópica y tiene una distribución pantropical.
