January total: 77 species

I really didn’t get as many species as I had hoped, but I didn’t do terrible either. Some highlight birds were Long-eared Owl, Northern Saw-whet Owl, Pileated Woodpecker, and Snowy Owl. I’m definitely behind but I’m hoping to catch up more in February and reach 100 (however, it’s now the 14th and I still haven’t surpassed 80). I will post a full recap of my January adventures in a few days.

Here's my February additions so far by the way

February year birds so far:

Surf Scoter
Long-tailed Duck
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Cedar Waxwing

I am also currently on a hunt for White-winged Crossbills, which have been sighted in two places in my county but I searched for them all day today and couldn't find them. If I do, they'll be my rarest addition to the list so far

Owen, We just found your journal and your photographs this morning through e.bird.

Can you tell me about your scope?

Thanks, Denise D
