Vermont's Natural Areas
Louise and Ottar Indridason wrote a series of articles entitled "Vermont's Natural Areas" published in Vermont Life magazine in 1973–4:

Most of the natural areas featured in the articles were first described by Hub Vogelmann in his two-part booklet Natural areas of Vermont published in 1964 and 1969. I've been to Mt Mansfield of course but I've not visited the other natural areas described in the Indridason articles. Have you been to any of these places?

The Vernon Black Gum Swamp is a very cool, distinctive place! J. Maynard Miller Town Forest in Vernon. Be warned about mosquitos though, which I remember being quite bad there.

You probably already know this but Molly Bog is a permission-only natural area. See the UVM Natural Areas page for contact details. I have no idea what to expect if one were to call and ask for permission.
I haven't been to the Chazyan Reefs but my friend has, and I really want to go. I heard about it while taking a geology course at UVM during my undergrad; it is one of, if not the oldest coral reefs in the world (fossilized of course, haha).
I have gone to Lessor's Quarry in South Hero (44.649165, -73.329024) off Sunset View Rd. also owned by UVM. This was created by an underwater mudslide that trapped tons of organisms (Bryozoa, Gastropods, Brachiopods, Trilobites, and much more) and fossilized them. Also worth a visit! Lots of cool geological features there.

I have visited the Vernon Black Gum Swamp and also the Chazyan Reefs. Both worth visiting!
