Please help make iNaturalist a better tool by checking out this link with tips from an iNaturalist expert:
If you are new to iNaturalist or even have been using it for a while, there are many things you can do to improve the quality of your observations and the data you contribute!

You can also see a powerpoint presentation I gave for the Dade Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society here:

Feel free to message me if you have any questions on how anything works!

iNaturalist is a great way to learn about the nature you can find in your neighborhood (or really anywhere in the world). I've been using it for a few years now and I'm hooked! Even though I've spent countless hours exploring Miami-Dade County, from urban areas to the Everglades and Biscayne Bay, I am still amazed by how often I see something I had no idea existed-- whether I find it myself or somebody else uploads it to iNaturalist. Seeing biodiversity first-hand is a lot of fun but it's just as fun to see what other people find :-)

About me: Born & raised in Miami, Fl. I teach Portuguese & Italian at a high school in Miami and commute to work and most places by bicycle. Over the years I've learned to appreciate nature in all of its forms. I started off by paying attention to birds but would always notice an interesting insect or flower while birding. iNaturalist gave me a way to get help IDing what I was finding and learn more.
